Renewables talk to take place at Town Hall
Inverurie Community Council and Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum are hosting a talk on renewable energy in Inverurie Town Hall on Tuesday, November 20 at 7.30pm.
The Forum and the Council were recently jointly responsible for the Natural Energy show at Thainstone, where feedback suggested public interest in renewables is increasing and it was thought that Government funding may have had some bearing on this.
ICC and AEF are said to feel that this increasing interest has not been matched with a good understanding of the technologies so talk should help to put some perspective on what is available, what the benefits and impacts of the different technologies might be, and how effective they may be at tackling the energy problem most people seem to think is sneaking up on us.
To that end, some experts have been lined up to help people put the different technologies into context. Wind turbines, solar heating and PV panels, biomass for wood stoves and boilers, energy from waste, heat pumps and small scale hydro schemes are likely to get an airing.
At the end of the session there will be an opportunity for questions.
