Fyvie 5k and Fun Run opens for registration

FYVIE Parent Council is holding a 5k and Fun Run in the grounds of Fyvie Castle on Sunday, April 17.

The route surrounds the castle and lake and is open to runners of all ages and abilities, with proceeds going to Fyvie School Parent Council.

The 10k and Fun Run is supported by Bonnyview Windows and Doors, Run4It, McKenzie Print, Fyvie Steels and Supplies, Shell, Kirk Natural Stone Developments Ltd, Celebrations of Turriff, The National Trust for Scotland, Fyvie Estate, St Andrew’s First Aid and has a ‘title sponsorship’ from ACE winches. This event is held under UK Athletics Rules and Scottish Athletics Permit No. 3425.

The run, which is now in its fifth year, incorporates new improved routes and chip timing.

Alternatively they can be downloaded from.fyvieparents.info. Online entries close at 12 noon, April 13 after which no further entries will be accepted.

Registration opens at 8.30am on the day at Fyvie Castle Courtyard with the Fun Run kicking off at 10am, and the 5K at 10.45am. Entries for the 5k cost £10 (£8 for Scottish Athletics Affiliated Members) and £5 for the 2.5k. Runners should allow adequate time to collect a chip and assemble for the event. Prizes will be awarded as follows: adults (1-3), children 9-12 inclusive (1-3), children up to and including 8 years (1-3) and all participating children receive a Fun Run medal.
