Singers raise hundreds for hall fund
On Sunday the Ythan Singers sang their hearts out to a full audience in the Victoria Hall, Ellon.
This concert, ‘A Christmas Mixture’ brought a smile to all faces with well-known carols and songs. The audience joined in singing ‘Good King Wenceslas’, ‘Still the Night’ and ‘Child in a Manger’ but could also be seen to be humming along to many others. Soloist Carole Fox sang ‘Word of the Father Everlasting’ whilst Charlie Fox narrated a Christmas poem ‘As with Madness’ and introduced Mrs Beeton’s Musical Recipe of a Christmas Plum Pudding! The concert ended with ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ and on a high note, with the choir wishing the audience ‘A Merry Christmas’. The concert was superbly lead by Morag Paton, ably accompanied by Rosemary Lund on piano.
