Exciting changes for the Caravan and Camping Show

The Scottish Caravan and Camping Show will return for the third time next year with major new sponsor.

The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22, 2013 at Thainstone Centre, a week later than usual.

Next year’s event, which also features the Grampian Outdoor Leisure Show, will herald the involvement of one the country’s biggest and best known names in outdoor leisure, Craigdon Mountain Sports, as official tent sponsor.

Craigdon, an Inverurie-based family business, has grown into one of the most respected names in the outdoor leisure industry with retail outlets in Inverurie, Aberdeen, Inverness and Perth. They are also about to construct their first purpose built shop and restaurant in Edinburgh.

The main caravan show will again be sponsored by Dyce Caravans, with an extensive range from top manufacturers such as Bailey, Elddis, Buccaneer, Autocruise, Bessacarr and Swift.

Ken Cumming, sales director of principal sponsors Dyce Caravans, said: “We are delighted to once again be the main sponsor of the show and build on the success of the previous two years.

“As the largest dealer in the north of Scotland, we see the show as a fantastic opportunity to engage with people new to caravanning and motor caravanning, as well as a great chance for the more experienced to see a wide range of models from all the top manufacturers.”

Gordon Lee, managing director of Craigdon Mountain Sports said: “We want to support what has become a really good show at Thainstone. We will be giving it our all to help take the show to the next level.”

He added: “With our expertise built up from almost 30-years in the leisure industry, Craigdon will have an excellent display of tents at the event along with lots of advice for buyers.”

The show is the only one of its type to be held north of the Central Belt and this year attracted 8,000-visitors from all over Scotland.

John Gregor of the ANM Group expressed delight at the way the event had grown. He explained: “Thainstone is a busy agricultural centre but these new dates will mean the show will have the entire site for two full days without anything else taking place. We are also delighted to welcome Craigdon on board for the first time as they are a major player in the outdoor leisure industry.
