Pitmedden Garden’s new season opens

Pitmedden Garden is open for the new season. The Museum of Farming Life, garden, the tearoom and shop are all available.

To mark the occasion the National Trust for Scotland team will be up with the dawn chorus on Saturday (May 5) and are hoping some hardy souls will join them.

For those who prefer a later start to the day, the museum brings the history of farming to life, showing how harsh an industry it can be, with an extensive collection of domestic and agricultural artefacts

Art lovers have a real treat this season, with an exhibition by water colour artist Catherine Gorman in the Stable, while outdoors there is Sculpture in the Garden by John Maine RA, known for work exhibited globally.

Gardeners can draw inspiration from the stunning borders which provide colour and scents throughout the season. There are plenty of walks to follow in the grounds with wildlife to spot.

Pitmedden Garden (gardens, museum, shop and tearoom) is open from May 1 to September 30, daily from 10am to 5.30pm. The grounds are open all year.
