THIS year Inverurie-based drama group Spotlight Theatre (formerly The Garioch Players) is celebrating 25 years of performing in Inverurie. Their annual May production will be the Ray Cooney and John Chapman 1960s set farce Move Over Mrs Markham.

Rehearsals continue to go well for this very comical farce under the directorial eye of group member Laurence Young, formerly Principal Teacher of Drama at Dyce Academy.

The group have a strong cast made up of both long-term and newer members of the group.

Move Over Mrs Markham explores the intricacies and complications which ensue when different sets of hopeful lovers all converge on the bedroom of the Markhams’ supposedly empty flat. The misunderstandings and deceptions which follow result in a hectic and hilarious evening.

Move Over Mrs Markham will be performed in Inverurie Town Hall on Thursday, May 10, Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12, with the usual audience set-up, cabaret-style seating at tables with a bar available for audience members to enjoy a drink before, during or after the show.
