72 Hole Golf Challenge

FOUR North East golfers, Ian and David Nicholson, Tommy McGregor and Roy Barbour are to play four rounds of Golf in one day on Friday, June 17.

The team will play under the banner of “Dodie’s Fundraising Foundation” in memory of the late George Nicholson. Their sponsored challenge will provide funds to the British Heart Foundation as they undertake two rounds at Newmachar Golf Club and two rounds at Kintore Golf Club where George was a member until his untimely passing last year. Also in place is an annual golf outing each September with participants who are the family friends and colleagues of George.

Our local professional golfer Mr. Paul Lawrie has kindly shown his support by donating some items to for a charity auction to be held after the September event. Anyone wishing to show their support by donating auction or raffle items, or sponsoring the players should contact Margaret Nicholson via stoneyladles@btinternet.com or Telephone (01467) 625870.

Barbara Osborne, Head of Volunteer Fundraising at BHF Scotland, said: “Heart and circulatory disease is still Scotland’s number one killer, and there are very few of us who haven’t been touched by it. That’s why we are so grateful to the “The Dodie Fundraising Foundation” for helping us continue our life-saving work.

“There are lots of ways to get involved with BHF Scotland – helping with fundraising or giving time as a volunteer. We urgently need the support of more people like these golfers, so if you can help in any way, please get in touch today. Because together, we can beat heart disease.”
