GRAMPIAN Police this week revisited the locations in Inverurie where two women were approached and grabbed by a man in a car.
Last Monday, July 21, a 22-year-old female was followed by a male driving a small blue hatchback car. The man subsequently tried to grab the arm of the woman who had been walking on the old A96 between North Street and Drimmies Corner at around 11pm.
A week on from the incident, officers from Grampian Police revisited the scene to carry out house-to-house inquiries.
Following a separate incident where another woman was also approached by a man in a similar car, an updated description of the man involved has been issued.
The 18-year-old woman has described the man, who approached her on Davah Road, Inverurie near its junction with Kellands Road, on Wednesday, July 23 as a white European who spoke in a foreign language, had a tanned complexion and was aged between 30 and 40 years.
He had short, light coloured hair which was not styled, a round face with a long pointed nose, long eyelashes and prominent lips. His teeth were squint and pointed with a silver cap on a top left tooth.
The victim also gave a detailed description of the jeans worn by the man. They are said to be dark blue denim with a rust coloured wash effect. On the rear left pocket there is a horseshoe logo - similar to the letter 'U' - with a silver stud at the top of each side of the horseshoe.
In the middle of the pocket there is a dark navy stitched circle within which there is a red soolid circle. Beside the red solid circle there is a symbol similar to Chinese or Oriental writing.
The man was also wearing a light blue woollen jumper with one inch thick horizontal stripes, writing on the right hand side of the chest and white trainers.
Detective Inspector Martin Dunn, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We have circulated this updated description widely throughout the Inverurie business community and are hoped that it, combined with the house-to-house inquiries, will provide us with some information.
"It is a very detailed description of a pair of very distinctive jeans and we are sure that someone will recognise them. Anyone with any information regarding these incidents, the male or the vehicles is asked to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
