FOLLOWING the news of local job losses in Inverurie in recent weeks, there is good news of an employment boost for the area as a new child care facility prepares to open it's doors in April, and is currently looking to recruit staff.
Les Enfants will be a custom built pre-school nursery on Burghmuir Place, Inverurie for ages 0-5 years old.
General Manager Claire Edwards told the Herald that Les Enfants are looking to recruit around 30 full time staff to fill office and nurse
ry positions as well as a cook, driver / handy person and cleaners. She added, "We want our staff to have the opportunity to develop and grow through learning, experience and career progression."
The state of the art facility , which is being built by local property developers Tor Ecosse, will feature separate learning and play areas for 0-2 and 3-5 age groups; custom built quiet rooms and rest areas; kitchen and catering facilities; security access; a parents room with internet connection and a garden and outdoors play area. There will also be a drop-off / pick-up parking. Claire noted that, with the notoriously fickle Scottish climate, the nursery would also feature a large indoors play area to allow the children to exercise. The nursery will also aim to work with local education and regulatory authorities to compliment the children's learning.
Claire, who has an experienced background in child care in both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, said that the nursery will aim to provide a safe environment that will encourage children to learn while also adding fun and how to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
She added that all the staff will be experienced and trained in high quality childcare. They will be focused on providing a safe and secure environment for the children to learn in and to have fun and make new friends.
She said, "It is a very exciting time, and I am really looking forward to Les Enfants opening. We are focusing on providing high quality child care in the Inverurie area and aim to make Les Enfants 'best in class'."
Eddie Innes, Managing Director, of Tor Ecosse told the Herald that he was happy that the project would show that there was "light at the end of the tunnel" after recent job losses. He also said, "As the building contractors we are delighted to be associated with what I'm sure will be a state of the art nursery facility.
"As a local company we also have a strong interest that children have the best opportunities to grow and develop."
