A FIFE man was killed after being struck by a car on the outskirts of Inverurie last weekend.
Scott Lammie (25), from Oakley, was fatally injured in the collision on the B9001 Inverurie to Rothienorman road in the early hours of Sunday (April 19) morning.

Mr Lammie had been walking towards Rothienorman with a friend when he was struck by
a northbound silver Vauxhall Corsa about one mile north of Inverurie at 2am on Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 17 year-old male driver of the Corsa was uninjured, but his two passengers, a male and female, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, the male with minor injuries to his arm, and the female suffering from shock. Mr Lammie's friend, a 28-year-old male, was uninjured.
Mr Lammie had been working in the North east and was staying at a guest house in the Aberchirder area.

Inspector Ewan Innes of the Roads Policing Department said: "Our inquiries into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate collision are continuing and we are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have encountered Mr Lammie and his friend walking along the B9001 prior to the collision or who may have seen them in Inverurie, or elsewhere, during Saturday evening.

"Mr Lammie was wearing dark trousers, a dark jacket and white trainers."

The road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigators to carry out a detailed examination of the scene.

Grampian Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has any information which would assist with the investigation. They are asked to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or, if wishing to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Meanwhile, Police have confirmed that they attended an address on Elphinstone Road, Inverurie at about 11.30am on Friday (April 17) following the report of a death at the address.

The 26 year-old male concerned has been named as Alexander McNaughton, who was a resident of Inverurie.

Grampian Police are not treating the death as suspicious, and stated that a report is to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
