Alzheimer Scotland organises a monthly Dementia Café at The Fly Cup Catering, Burghmuir Circle, Inverurie.
The next sessions will take place on Thursday, February 19, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
The café provide an informal meeting place in a community setting for people with Dementia and their families to get together and develop friendships in a friendly and supportive environment.
It is important that the sense of social isolation felt by many people with dementia and their carers as their condition progresses is reduced.
Tea, coffee and homebakes are available to purchase and there are activities on offer too.
The Café is suitable for people who are able to attend on their own safely or who can bring their own support with them.
Football Reminiscence Taster Session: If you have a diagnosis of dementia and are passionate about football, you might enjoy the newly started Football Reminiscence Group.
At the moment still only a one-off taster session to see how many out there would be interested but with the potential to make this a monthly group.
Whether you have played on the pitch or cheered from the stands, Alzheimer Scotland are bringing together people to share their memories of the beautiful game. Coffee and biscuit will be available during the get together.
The group will have its first meeting on Thursday, February 12, at 10.30am at Inverurie Loco Works, Harlaw Road, Inverurie. Please get in touch if you would like to know more and put your name down for this group. Places are limited but a minimum number is required to get this group going. To book a place please contact Anouk Kahanov-Kloppert on (01467) 530513 or Kirsteen Heneghen on (01467) 530512.
