Local postman, Graham Watson, the unstoppable fundraiser is once again turning his hand to organising the Annual Charity Darts Competition (his seventh to date) which will be held in the Royal British Legion on Saturday, May 26, in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
There will again separate men’s and ladies’ competitions with great prize money up for grabs. Additionally there will be other prizes as well as an auction and raffle on the day.
All the prize money has been donated by local companies. In the history of the competition £11,000 has been raised for various good causes, £7,000 of which has been donated to Breast Cancer Care over the previous three years.
Craig Wilson, ‘The Kilted Chef’ will open the event at 1pm. Graham said: “I asked Craig to come along as he is a very hard working chap and has raised a lot of money over the years for charity, and one of these charities is Breast Cancer Care”
“I would like to thank all my sponsors who have so kindly donated again this year, because without their help I wouldn’t be able to raise so much money. I’d also thank everybody who turns up year, in year out to support this competition and make it what it is today”
Registration on the day must be before 12.30pm but anybody wishing to enter in advance can contact Graham at firstname.lastname@example.org. Entry is £7.
