Vice-president Mrs Margaret Paterson welcomed everyone to the Cairnorrie SWRI May meeting which was held in Methlick church room.

After all the business was discussed and group report read Mrs Paterson welcomed Cairnorrie member Sandra Murdoch as speaker for the evening.

Sandra gave a demonstration of some sweet ideas using rhubarb, demonstrating how to make a rhubarb and ginger cake, orange and rhubarb meringue nests, strawberry and rhubarb trifle and, to finish, Cairnorrie eat and mess.

Members tucked in to a taste and try afterwards, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

After tea, raffles were drawn and Margaret closed the evening with a vote of thanks and wished everyone a safe journey home.

President Sue Hall welcomed members to the May meeting of Auchedly and Ythanbank SWRI.

After business was attended to, she introduced Paula Redman, from the RSPB’s Loch of Srathbeg.

Paula gave an extremely interesting talk on wildlife, showing some lovely pictures on how the site was being developed.

Lil Emslie supplied a lovely tea. Sue Hall proposed the vote of thanks.
