In Ellon, there were estimated to be more than 2000 people in Gordon Park on Saturday evening for the bonfire and firework show.

The event was organised by Ellon Round Table and its press and area officer Deni Sarafimoski said: “The night went really well for us and safe to say our best one yet.

“There was at least 2000 plus people there on the night and we’ve had great feedback from people telling us that they really enjoyed it, and all the posts on our Facebook page telling us how great they thought it was which makes it all worthwhile for us.

“Our goal was to put on a display that the people of Ellon enjoyed and they did. So we will definitely run this again next year.”

After last years awful weather put a bit of a damper on Bonfire Night, it was a dry night and not too cold at Inverurie’s Thainstone Centre, where a large crowd turned out for the annual Inverurie and District Round Table Bonfire and Fireworks Display.

Lair Parker, Chairman of Inverurie Round Table said, “After a poor 2013 with bad weather we certainly succeeded this year.

“With Andy Clegg (Vice Chairman) as chief organizer of this event along with the Round Table team I think that everyone would agree that the event was a cracking success that ended with a (huge)
bang!

“I would like to thank Mark Copeland and his team for a professional display of Fireworks for all the public and especially kids to enjoy. Roll on 2015. I would also like to thank all the helpers who gave up their time to ensure the event ran smoothly.

The next Round Table event will be the Boxing Night that is held at Garioch Sports Centre on the November 22, starting at 6.45pm. All the cash raised in these events all goes back into the local community to pay for events like the Fireworks.
