Davidsons Specialist Butchers in Inverurie scooped a gold awards hat-trick in the Butchers Q Guild’s 2016 barbecue competition.
Davidsons struck gold with its Pork Sausage, Sirloin Steak and The Gourmet Rump Burger in the speciality burger category.
The Burn Lane shop is owned and run by Scottish Q Guild chairman John Davidson and this success follows on from Davidsons’ recent win at the 2016 Scottish Craft Butcher Awards for their gluten free products.
Almost 400 products from Q Guild Butchers nationwide were entered for this year’s competition.
Q Guild national chairman Alnwick butcher Mark Turnbull said: “Entries for the BBQ competition have increased again this year such is the growing stature of our annual highlight.”
The 2016 Q Guild BBQ Championships are being sponsored by industry suppliers Innovative Food Ingredients, Dalziel, DB Foods, The Dalesman Group, Scobie and Junior, and Baro Lighting.
The national final featuring product champions from seven Q Guild regions across the UK takes place at Eastwood Hall, near Nottingham, on Sunday, May 15.
