A Proposal of Application Notice for development of land at the Glebe, Oldmeldrum has been submitted to Aberdeenshire Council by house builder CALA Homes (North).

CALA say that the submission signals the start of a 12 week long consultation period, during which they say that they will carefully craft a master-plan followed by a planning application for the site, in collaboration with the local community.

The proposed development on land to the west of Urquhart Road in the town will be made up of residential properties, including affordable homes, and also Church and community facilities.

The site forms part of the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan as the Oldmeldrum allocation M1.

Mike Naysmith, Managing Director at CALA Homes (North), said, “We are very much looking forward to working with the local community in Oldmeldrum to shape our proposal.

“We plan to host two community consultation events in the coming months, at which we will present information on our initial plans and considerations, and take time to answer questions and listen to feedback from attendees.

“We would welcome anyone wishing to hear more about, and help form, our proposals for the area to come along and meet our team.”

Details of the community events, which are set to take place in May and June, will be released shortly and publicised around the local area.

CALA have a long history in the North-east, having been founded as the City of Aberdeen Land Association in 1875
