Food and drink awards 2016 are launched

Business leaders who were successful at last year’s Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards came together last week to welcome the launch of the awards.

Representatives ranging from historic family businesses, key export businesses and younger SMEs came together to urge other businesses to enter the awards.

The Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards recognise those businesses and individuals in Scotland who are leading the way with innovation, enterprise and quality.

Entries are encouraged from small, medium and large food and drink producers across 19 entered business and product categories.

Increasingly recognised by both trade and consumers as recognition of the highest quality, the awards are now open for entries. Organised by Scotland Food & Drink in partnership with The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS), the awards close for entries on Friday, March 11.

Chief Executive of Scotland Food & Drink, James Withers, said: “These awards rhighlight the strength of our industry, the wealth of talent and skill countrywide across all sectors as well as our world leading expertise and innovation in the production of premium food and drink.”

The awards take place on June 2 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC).
