A group of Garioch businesses have been providing a bit of festive cheer for less fortunate families in the area.
The charity initiative has seen needy people being given a Christmas meal, and organisers have praised the level of support from the local community
Spearheaded by Inverurie group Monday Motivation and life coach Theresa Day, the project aims to provide festive fayre for those in need through donations and fundraising.
The campaign took a leap forward when John Davidson, of the town’s Davidsons Specialist Butchers, offered 10 complete meal packages which will be distributed as part of the project.
Mr Davidson said: “We were delighted to be one of the businesses approached to take part in this very worthwhile project and are pleased that we could do something practical to help those in need.
“We hope that others will be inspired to jump on board too and do their best for those less fortunate this Christmas.”
Theresa added: “The community as a whole has been very supportive and we have received many donations from local shops.
“We are very grateful to all the businesses who are supporting us, including Davidsons Specialist Butchers, and hope that our efforts will bring some festive cheer to those who receive food from us.”
