YOUNG local Butcher Andrew Peter, of Davidsons Specialist Butchers in Inverurie, has made it through to the 2013 Final of Young Scottish Butcher of the Year.

Held every two years, the Meat Skills competition is run by the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders concentrating on knife skills, display and product development.

Managing Director John Davidson commented, “Andrew is an inspiration to other young butchers, with his drive and creativity Andrew will go a long way in the trade. All the staff at Davidsons are very proud and will be there on the day showing their support”

Andrew was up against some tough competition from butchers throughout Scotland and will now go on to demonstrate his skills in the final at the Dewar’s Centre in Perth on May 12, going head to head with the other three finalists.
