A PRIVATELY owned subsea sector technology and service company has opened a new office and workshop facility at International Paper’s former Paper Mill site, Kirkwood Commercial Park.
Advantec Aberdeen Ltd, is a subsidiary of Norwegian-based Advantec AS, and is the second tenant to locate to the newly established commercial park.
The company, which is dedicated to the supply, service and maintenance of subsea control systems and wellhead solutions, has agreed to lease a 13,000 square foot warehouse and yard and 7,000 square foot office within the main office block for an initial period of five years with the option to extend to ten years.
Managing director of Advantec Aberdeen Ltd, Steve King, said: “We looked at many options when identifying a site but none had the size, range of buildings and location to meet our present and future growth plans. Advantec Aberdeen is a well-funded model with immediate plans to develop and run a fleet of up to ten state of the art intervention and workover umbilicals (IWOC) with our technology partners Advantec, Stord.
“We also plan to create a test and assembly hub for original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and operators alike. We required premises and a landlord who shared our vision of growth and a site large enough to house IWOCs, test and assembly and site integration testing (SIT) divisions.”
Kirkwood land director, Allan Rae said: “We are delighted to welcome Advantec, not only to Kirkwood Commercial Park, but also the North-east and we look forward to working closely with them as they expand their business.
“This is our second tenant to sign up to our commercial park and we are currently handling several live inquiries. The park is in a great location for companies with direct links to the trunk road and has a wide range of flexible property options available.”
