Christmas Lights

Inverurie Events is getting ready for the St Andrew’s Day parade and Christmas Light switch-on which will take place on Sunday, November 25, with all proceeds going to the Christmas Lights fund.

In the square stalls, kindly on loan from the Farmers Market, will be set up and on the day there will be live music, food and entertainment, and a Firework Display from the roof of the Town Hall as well as the parade itself.

In anticipation of a good turnout, the event starts officially at 1pm and ends after the Firework display at approximately 5.30pm.

Inverurie events can now reveal that after last year’s show of just five lights, it now has more than 20 sponsors for Christmas lights, which have now been refurbished. However, they are still looking for more to make Inverurie a truly spectacular Christmas town. £400 will secure sponsorship for a period of ten years which will include the sponsor’s sign around the lamp post.

Secretary of Inverurie Events, Neil Baillie said: “Again we want to publicise the local youth groups in the area. We hope that this will promote a sense of pride and interest locally for our children in the community and country.”
