An Ellon and District Councillor has called for action over slippage problems in Foveran.
Earlier this year Councillor Gillian Owen expressed concerns surrounding the embankment on the A90 at Foveran and the banks on both sides of the burn which run through the village.
Mrs Owen stressed that safety issues need to be addressed and a timetable needs to be put in place for the necceasry works to be carried out.
Councillor Owen said: “I have been in contact with Bear Scotland again since my last update in September and in terms of the slippage the geotechnical process is progressing with the geotechnical engineers having just visited the site. Sadly though completion of this process is going to take time.
“I am assured that the Japanese knotweed will be dealt with at the same time as the embankment repair which is good news but I do have concerns about the length of time it is taking.
“I have again asked that the temporary pedestrian fencing which was installed around the area of slippage be checked out to ensure that it is as robust as a large number of pedestrians and particularly children are going to the school.”
