INVERURIE residents are being encouraged to take up a special opportunity to see behind the scenes at the local police station.
The Inverurie Community Policing Team is inviting local people for a behind the scenes look at the Police Station on Blackhall Road between 12pm and 4pm on Saturday, September 28.
The open day has a ‘safety’ theme and various presentations and demonstrations will be given on aspects of home, personal, vehicle and road safety. Advice will also be available about domestic abuse and cyber bullying.
As part of the open day, members of the public will also have access to the cells, the vehicles used by the team and other staff facilities such as the fingerprinting suite.
The Fire Service of Scotland will also be in attendance with an appliance and will be on hand to offer home fire safety advice.
Community Policing Team Sergeant, Alison Littlejohn said, “This is the first time such an event has been held at Inverurie Police Station and I would encourage local people to come along. We are pleased to offer this opportunity to people to see a side of our work that is not normally available to the general public and to convey our key messages to keep people safe.
“It also gives everyone a chance to meet members of the Inverurie team, to discuss any issues and to answer any questions they may have.”
