Vandals damage cars in Ellon

A police hunt is under way for vandals after several cars were targeted in Ellon.

Thousands of pounds in damage was caused to the vehicles in the town’s Commercial Road area.

The cars were scratched between 7pm on Friday, July 10, and 10am the following day.

Police Scotland said the total cost of the damage is around a low four-figure sum.

They are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the Commercial Road area at the time of the incidents and who may have seen anyone acting in a suspicious manner.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the theft of a trailer from a commercial yard in Balmedie.

The trailer was stolen from the North Beach Road area of the village.

It occurred between 5pm on Saturday, July 11, and 8am the following day.

Police said the trailer was described as a silver Ifor Williams, worth an estimated low four-figure sum.

They are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of North Beach Road between Friday night and Saturday morning and who saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact them.
