A support group for people who live with a family member who has issues with drug use will hold its next meeting on April 18.
The Garioch Family Support Group meets fortnightly in Inverurie from 7.30pm – 9.30pm and is open to people across Aberdeenshire.
The support group has over the years held events such as acupuncture taster sessions and relaxation techniques and strived to help families find ways to cope with their particular situations.
Senior community learning and development worker Naida Sneddon said: “Drug use affects families from all backgrounds, throughout Aberdeenshire.
“The support group helps people work through feelings of shame, guilt, isolation, frustration or fear of the unknown and people can just come along to listen, or speak to other families who are going through similar experiences.
“For people who are nervous about coming along for the first time or who don’t want to stay for the whole session they can meet with the workers before the meeting and don’t need to stay on for the group meeting as it can be a big step.”
Sessions are on April 18; May 2, 16 and 30; and June 13 and 27. To attend or for more info, contact Donna or Alex on 07902 283177 or at email@example.com
