Pupils at an Inverurie school received a special delivery this week - salmon eggs.

The River Don Trust biologist Jamie Urquhart visited Kellands Primary with a batch of 100 as part of the trust’s “Salmon in the Classroom” project.

The programme will last through the spring and summer months and the children will monitor and rear the eggs in their classroom hatchery before the fish are released over the next few weeks.

Pupils from 1B, 4M and 7C at Kellands are involved in the project.

Other schools taking part this time are Alehousewells at Kemnay, Kintore Primary and Forehill Primary at Bridge of Don.
