PUPILS at Meldrum Academy took part in planning workshops on Friday, designed to generate ideas for their upcoming Fairtrade Event.
Business studies teacher Wendy Jessamine told the Times that four experts in four different fields of event planning had been invited to the school to speak to S2s about the logistics of hosting the event, which will serve as a showcase for Fairtrade products at the school.
“The event will give the pupils a taste of what it’s like to organise an event,” said Wendy. “The workshops cover 25-30 minuites and include health and safety, business planning, events management and facilities management. The event in question takes place in the summer - we’ve been lucky that we were able to get together such a great range of speakers.”
