Inverurie Academy goes forward once again to the Young Enterprise Grampian Awards 2012, with a team known as ‘Mus-eco who recycle old LP records. Their products include a range of bowls, plates, clocks and other useful household products.

Mus-eco MD Ashleigh Brown said the idea of using old records was broached and subsequently developed by the team.

She said: “The original idea was the bowls and we have already sold out of them.”

The company, which was started with a £100 cap, has to date had sales amounting to about £2,500, sourcing their raw materials from a local charity shop.

Speaking about the forthcoming Award Dinner at which Michelle Mone will deliver a keynote speech and help with the judging, Ashleigh said: “We are over the moon. It is so good seeing everything coming together the way it has, we have made so much effort.”

The Award Ceremony will take place at the Marcliffe Hotel on Monday, April 30 when the youngsters will pitch their ideas to Michelle Mone and some of Aberdeen’s leading business people.
