St Andrew’s School News

THE pupils in Room 7 enjoyed an active day at Inverurie Academy recently meeting all the other primary 7 pupils due to go up to the Academy after the summer holidays. They all played dodge-ball and learned how to do hip-hop dancing.

The classes that went to the Sir Arthur Grant’s Centre in Monymusk over the past two weeks had an exciting and enjoyable time. There were a lot of activities in the grounds of the centre with various visits in the surrounding area, and further away. Some of the boys and girls stayed overnight and enjoyed sleeping in bunk beds.

The students in Rooms 12 and 15 had a fantastic time doing activities on Bennachie, followed by swimming at Hazelhead pool.

The studetns in Room 16 went to Haughton Park in a minibus. Although the weather was a bit rainy, it did not spoil the outings. They went on to discover where the Gordon Stone was to be found - along a woodland path in Murray Park.

A slide show of some of the photos were shown at the St Andrew’s School fun night. The pupils in Room went to Duthie Park to finish off their ‘In The Garden’ project. They enjoyed seeing the lovely flowers and plants.

The school had a special celebration for three members of staff who are retiring after many years at St Andrew’s School. Mrs Whyte, Mrs Buist and Mrs Edmonds were all thanked for their contributions to the well-being of the school by head teacher, Mrs Burnett. The special garden party was held in the school hall due to the very wet weather. They will all be greatly missed.

The primary sports were held in the school grounds. There were a lot of races with a lot of stickers being handed out to the children. The sun shone, which they were all very pleased about.
