Ellon’s Tesco is inviting the community to nominate local worthy causes to receive a share of a £5,000 donation.

The store, on Castle Road, will be running a Helping Hand competition in-store to decide which local charities, organisations or groups will receive a slice of the £5,000 donation.

Shoppers can fill in an entry form in-store now and post it in one of the entry boxes provided.

Store Manager, Mark Robison and his team will then look through all the entries before selecting the winners when the competition closes on Sunday, November 30.

Mark said: “My team and I are excited to, not only be able to help our local community, but to give our customers the opportunity to decide who we should support, as we know there will be many relatively unknown good causes that are close to shoppers hearts but that we would never have known about.

“That is why I’d like to encourage local residents to take part and have their say by nominating a local organisation looking for funding however big or small!”

The Tesco Ellon store is open seven days a week from 6am until midnight, Monday to Saturday and from 8am till 8pm Sunday.
