Discussions are under way to create software to enhance Bennachie Colony.

The Bailies of Bennachie, Inverurie Youth Forum and members of the public gathered at the Garioch Community Centre, and on Bennachie, to talk about introducing an app.

The workshops, sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund, were led by Smart History who showed the group some of the technology that will be involved in creating a new app, such as cameras and scanning of objects.

The Bennachie software is being created as part of 2017 History, Heritage and Archaeology.

Jackie Cumberbirch, of Bailies of Bennachie said: “From the discussions, the group hope to be creative and on the app include a game, poetry readings and reconstructing a colony house.”

The next workshop will be held on Saturday, March 18, which will start at 10am at the Garioch Community Centre.

It will involve more hands-on activities and discussions on app content.
