Stars come out for charity in Inverurie

There was a chance for star spotting in Inverurie on Saturday Night (April 4) as the fifth annual “Stars in their Eyes” was held in Inverurie Town Hall.

The show is staged by local film and theatre company Right Here Productions and so far it has raised around £6,000 for charity.

This year, they even gained celebrity endorsement in the form of a good luck video from the TV show’s most famous host, Matthew Kelly.

Commenting on the event, organisers Alison Telfer and Dan Greavey said: “We would like to say, “a huge thank you to everyone who was involved, from our acts, to sponsors, bar staff, judges,technical, dancers, and audience members, plus anyone else who helped out in any way!

The acts were magnificent this year, and the winners raised lots of money for their charities:”

Taking third place was James Allan who performed as Jarvis Cocker.

He donated his winnings of £400 for JDRF (Junior Diabetes Research Fund).

Runner-up in the contest was Valerie Chapman as Sarah Brightman.

Valerie donated her £600 prize money to SensationAll based in Westhill.

Taking the overall crown this year wasJennifer Shaw who wowed the audience and judges as Dolly Parton.

Her top prize of £1,000 will be donated to the Archie Foundation

“We will be arranging cheques shortly, including one for £650 for local charity The Gaitherin’,” said Alison and Dan.

“Many thanks again, and we’ll see you all next year!”
