AN RSPB volunteer has been honoured for her fundraising activities in Aberdeenshire.

Angela Gowdy has received the President’s Award, one of the RSPB’s most prestigious accolades.

In her role as Volunteer Pin Badge Co-ordinator, Angela overseas the distribution of pin badge boxes and money collection from more than 80 sites. Since 2007, she has raised nearly £60,000 for the RSPB’s East Scotland region.

She said: “I am very honoured. I have thoroughly enjoyed raising money through the pin badge scheme, I find it most rewarding.”
