From Lisbon to Kintore

THERE will be a brand new dining experience at the Kintore Arms Inn, Kintore courtesy of new chef Sergio Vieira.

Sergio, who is originally from Lisbon, Portugal, moved to Scotland in 2002 when relatives at the Kildrummy Inn were looking for a trainee chef, and Sergio was in the market for a new job. He learned his trade at Kildrummy, and attending Aberdeen College.

Sergio has since worked at some of Aberdeen city and shire’s best known eateries including The Olive Tree and Eat on the Green, before moving to the Kintore Arms. Alongside the traditional Bar and Lunch Menu’s, Sergio aims to make the Dinner Menu a treat for lovers of food as he told the Herald, “I am looking for people to come and enjoy their food, but with no gimmicks, just using the best of local, fresh produce. Alongside the classic produce I will try to give customers different textures, like the crispiness of mange tout and the sweet and sour of red onion and marmalade.”

The Kintore Arms is restaurant is open Monday to Friday from midday to 2pm and from 5pm to 9pm and 12 midday to 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays. For further details call (01467) 632216.
