The eleventh annual Garioch Theatre Festival will launch this month with a packed programme of events, promising something for everyone.

The festival will host a “flashmob” choreographed by Pamela Green at the Wyness Hall, Inverurie on Saturday, June 20, from 12-5pm. Participants will create a piece of street entertainment then take it to the streets of Inverurie later that day. Phone to book a place on (01467) 621861.

Mitchell School of Drama will present “The Taming of the Shrew” by William Shakespeare, the classic comedy, this time set in the 1960s, directed and choreographed by Rhona Mitchell, with Ashley Forbes, Musical Director. It takes place at the Wyness Hall on June 25 and 26 at 7.30pm and June 27, at 3 and 7.30pm. Tickets cost £9, £6 concession.

There will be a brand new play written by Ashley Forbes and presented by the RARA Theatre Company, “Looks Like Rain”, a portrait of family life, is both funny and touching. Performances are at the Wyness Hall on Tuesday, June 30 and Saturday, July 4 at 8pm. Tickets cost £7 and £5 concession.

Juliette Brown will present “Look at Me”, which was critically acclaimed at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014, at the Wyness Hall on Sunday, July 5 at 7.30pm. Contains strong language, suitable for ages 14+. Tickets cost £10 and £8 concession.

The ever popular Fleeman Productions will present “Fooshion” by Charles Barron, a prize-winning Doric comedy at the Wyness Hall on Thursday and Friday, July 2 and 3, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10, £8 concession.

Company of Wolves present “A Brief History of Evil – work in progress”, created and performed by Ewan Downie and Jonathan Peck at the Wyness Hall on Wednesday, July 1 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5.

Restless Kreatures will bring the fun family show “Made to Measure” to the Wyness Hall on Sunday, June 28 at 3pm. Performers engae with the audience encouraging lots of interaction. Ideal for children aged 4-10 years. Tickets cost £7, £6 concession.
