MELDRUM Rotary hosted their annual Santa Fun Run at Haddo last weekend, as a light dusting of snow turned Haddo into a magical Christmas landscape.
First off were the under 13s, who ran twice round Haddo House as part of a 2k course. First back was Emily Ironside with Liam Davidson in second place and Ben Chalmers in third. Ben’s brother Jack came next and the Storer brothers William and Edward were separated by Carla Townsend, with Sandy Tateson bringing up the rear.
The adults - all in Santa suits - set off for the 5k at 1pm. Last year’s winner, James Kirk, again emerged triumphant with an improved time. Second was Sam Tateson and third Martin Kirk. The first lady back was Jennifer Kostuik and 3 minutes later Nicola Ewing came in as the second placed lady. The best junior was 13 year old Aillie Townsend.
After a cup of tea and a mincemeat pie, the Rotarians made their way to Meldrum Square where Santa, was a popular attraction at the switch-on ceremony.
