Ellon Hillwalking Club will held their next outing later this month.
The May walk is on Sunday the 18th to Clachnaben, one of the most familiar hills in the North-east.
Clachnaben is a 589-metre hill in Glen Dye. It is a distinctive landmark which is visible from many points on Lower Deeside and topped with a large granite tor.
Clachnaben is popular with walkers and hosts an annual race.
Organisers of the Ellon Hillwalking Club trip say they will probably start at the Cairn O’ Mount road at GR 649869 from which point the round trip is about three hours.
Club members will meet in the car park at Ellon Academy at 8.30 on the morning of 18th to discuss transport arrangements.
Anyone planning to join the walk should contact Irene Jamieson 01358 711242 by Thursday, May 15.
