A tasty date for your calendar has been lined up on Saturday, June 4, when Taste of Grampian will return for its 17th year at Inverurie’s Thainstone Centre.

And the headline celebrity chef’s are dynamic duo, The Incredible Spice Men – Tony Singh and Cyrus Todiwala.

The pair are infamous for their innovative cooking style of fusing British produce together with creative spice.

Leith-born Tony, famed for his legendary haggis pakora, said: “I am delighted to be part of this year’s event and fly the flag for the Grampian region.

“I am passionate about enhancing fresh, local Scottish ingredients with subtle spice and look forward to getting creative on the day.”

The date and headliners were announced at Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s Shire Connections event last Wednesday at Thainstone House Hotel.

Taste of Grampian, which recently won the Best Festival of the Year title at the Aberdeen City & Shire Tourism Awards, is now celebrating its 17th year. It attracts more than 14,000 visitors annually.

This year’s fun-packed programme of events will include indoor and outdoor cookery demonstrations and advice from celebrity chefs and local talent.

There will also be stalls from regional producers, an arts and crafts marquee, competitions, a beer and wine tent, the Press & Journal Motor Show and a whole host of music and entertainment.

Entry is £5 for adults, with children 16 and under and car parking free. For an in-depth feature on this year’s extravaganza, pick up a copy of this week’s paper – in the shops now – or visit www.tasteofgrampian.co.uk.
