A NORTH-east charity supporting people with learning disabilities became associated with the Great Inverurie Bike Ride for the first time this year, a move that has proved a great success.
Inspire, which operates in Aberdeen City and Shire with various schemes, also runs ‘Inspired Soap’ in Inverurie, which manufactures a range of quality scented soaps and toiletry products.
Following an appeal by the charity for bikers to support them in the bike ride, participants were inspired and raised a total of almost £400 on the day last Sunday.
Head of Business Development and Fundraising at Inspire, Fiona Poustie said: “We’re really glad that we got involved with the Great Inverurie Bike Ride this year, it’s the first year we’ve been a nominated charity for the event and we were really pleased, on the day, when we discovered that almost 50 participants chose to show their support to Inspire and fundraise for our charity”.
“The team took in almost £300 on the day and are expecting to receive more in the coming weeks. For a first event, this is a great achievement.
“A team from Inspired Soap had a stall on the day and sold a number of their products, bringing the total raised by the charity to nearer £400.
“Inspire has always enjoyed great support from the people of Inverurie and this event has proven to be no exception”.
