A Garioch teacher who is preparing to take part in the London Marathon has raised more than £4000 for the charity she is supporting.
Jan Millar, from Insch, recently held a Tipsy Teaparty fundraiser ahead of her run in aid of Children with Cancer UK on April 23.
The event in the Kintore Arms Hotel in Inverurie has so far raised £4215.
Mother-of-two Jan, a P1/2 teacher at Kellands School in Inverurie, is a Jog Scotland leader in her village and was introduced to running by friends.
She said: “With nearly 4000 children diagnosed with cancer a year, the charity is a leader in the search for a cure and providing care.
“I feel very lucky that my children and all the children I know and have taught have not suffered from cancer and I will be very proud to run for Children with Cancer UK in seven weeks’ time and support them in the fight against the disease.”
Jan has thanked her Jog Scotland friends for their support and also praised the generosity of staff and parents at Kellands, the communities of Insch and Inverurie and all who supported the fundraiser.
