The annual event returns on August 9 in the Melvin Hall, Tarves from 2-4pm and will be opened by Susanna Bichard who will also present the trophies to the winners.
Organisers are hoping for a good turnout on the day with everyone doing their best to support the local events.
It is also a chance for anyone new to the village to come along and participate.
Back in February each and every house in Tarves received a copy of the Flower Show schedule, so hopefully the residents have had a look and thought, “I can enter that”.
Last year two ladies put entries in for the very first time and both were awarded prizes, and for those of us who enter regularly the competition is appreciated and as without entries there would be no Show.
This year the “Messy Church” is holding a Messy Flower Show afternoon session on August 7 in the Youth Hall in the hope of encouraging the children in the village and the surrounding areas to come along and make entries for the “Children’s Section” in the Flower Show.
The sections are up to “8 years”, and the items for that age group are: (1) Decorated boiled egg in an egg cup, (2) Painted stone (3) Birthday card – best friend.
For the 9 – 12 year olds (1) Vegetable character (2) Plaited friendship bracelet (3) Book Mark (any craft). For the 13-16year olds (1) Drawing of any animal (2) Christmas Card – any craft (3) Decorated Jam jar – tea light holder.
Admission which includes a cup of tea and a fine piece is £2.50 adults and £1 children. Contributions for the tea tables and a donation of a raffle prize would also be appreciated.
