A popular Formartine fundraiser will be held at the end of the month.
Preparations are under way for the 11th Methlick May Walk on Saturday, May 31.
The event is organised to raise money for Methlick Parish Church and funds received a boost of more than £1000 from it last year.
The route covers either four miles, or the full eight miles, through the picturesque Haddo Estate and is supported by Lord and Lady Aberdeen.
Methlick’s new minister the Rev Dr Will Stalder is eagerly looking forward to the walk.
Dr Stalder, originally from California, arrived in February and he and his family are settling in well to the community.
He said: “The event brings the church and the community together and people look forward to it every year.
“It raises money for the church but it also creates an event where the community get together and enjoy each other’s company and enjoy nature.
“Lord and Lady Aberdeen have been kind enough to open up the estate and new trails. I’m really looking forward to it.”
The minimum donation is £10 for church funds on the day and organisers expect more to be raised through sponsorship.
The walk starts from the church at 1pm and finishes at the same location. There will be a quiz along the way.
Forms are available from the church or Costcutter in the village.
