Local retailer Scott Graham has been named the best food to go convenience retailer in Scotland at a prestigious awards ceremony held on Thursday at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
Scott, who runs McLeish’s in Inverurie’s Market Place, was named Food to Go Retailer of the Year at the 2014 SLR Rewards and was presented with a commemorative trophy by Caroline Buchanan from sponsor company Mondelez International.
Scott also wins a unique “money-can’t-buy” exclusive full day consultancy from a retail dream team featuring three former Scottish Local Retailers of the Year. This follows a relaunch of the SLR Rewards, which sees category winners receive a reward that presents them with an opportunity to improve their business.
Organised by leading convenience store magazine Scottish Local Retailer, the SLR Rewards are among the highlights of the industry calendar and are designed to recognise and reward excellence in a critical sector of Scotland’s economy.
Scottish Local Retailer editor Antony Begley commented, “This retailer has always had food to go at the heart of their offering, and in the last year has once again invested in the section, adapting it to meet consumer trends and increase sales.”
The SLR Awards are organised by Scottish Local Retailer magazine, Scotland’s only monthly title exclusively for the locally owned retail trade in Scotland.
Scott re-opened the popular Market Place store in 2009, and since then it has won various awards including, “National Lottery Retailer of the Year Award”, Highly Commended in the “Confectionery Retailer of the Year” and Unaffiliated Retailer of the Year in 2012.
