A HEARTBROKEN family is appealing for help after their much-loved family terrier disappeared from home.

Mother of two, Jill Duguid explained: Codie went missing from our garden in Kintore on November 29. He is three-year-old black, fluffy terrier cross with a white chest and little threads of golden coloured hair. Unfortunately he was not wearing a collar at the time of disappearance.”

With reports of positive and credible sightings in the Castlefields area of Kintore, the family are hopeful that he will be returned safe and well. However, whenever Codie has been approached, he has run off again.

Continuing, Jill said: “He is a very friendly dog and very much loved by my two boys, Dillon aged 12 and Ben (9). We are all heartbroken without him and are praying for his safe return but we are so worried now.”

“We have spent the last ten days posting flyers, posters and we have set up a Facebook page for him so as to get as much help as possible from the local community. The support has been terrific but we would welcome any additional help in letting people know who do not have Facebook or those who have not received a flyer or seen our posters. https://www.facebook.com/HelpFindMissingCodiePleaseShare?fref=ts.”

“Linda Ess at Lostdogsscotland.org says it is likely he is in hiding probably about a mile to a mile and a half away but has become disorientated in his attempts to get home. I am so hopeful he will return to us and would wish for nothing better than to be able to tell my two boys that we have found him. He is likely to take off if anyone shouts or calls for him, and the advice is that he is approached quietly with no eye contact or for anyone with any sightings to contact us. It would be particularly useful if people could check their sheds, garages, greenhouse, decking or outbuildings.

Anyone who has seen Codie or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call Jill on 07966 862887.
