Biker “serious” after A947 crash

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after his machine crashed into a house in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened on the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road, just north of Oldmeldrum, around 6.30am today.

The rider was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

Diversions were put in place as investigations got under way.

Meanwhile, emergency teams attended a second crash on the A947 this morning involving a motorcyclist.

The incident occurred on the Newmachar to Whiterashes stretch of the route at the Udny Green junction.

The road was later re-opened.
