Girlguiding Gordon recently ran a social media campaign to mark the 30th Anniversary of Volunteers’ Week and to thank their 416 volunteers.

As well as Brownie groups, volunteers also run weekly meetings for Rainbows, Guides and The Senior Section, giving girls and young women aged five to 26 the opportunity to have fun with their friends each week.

In recognition of their hard work, and to tie in with the Anniversary of Volunteers’ Week, 30 volunteers were featured in a social media campaign highlighting the varied roles they undertake. .

County Commissioner for Girlguiding Gordon, Susan Reid said: “We want to let everyone know how much we value our volunteers because without them, the girls would not be able to come together each week.”

Paula Duncan, a Brownie Leader in Inverurie said: “What makes it so special to me is seeing how much the girls are getting from it. I love seeing them grow in confidence and skills and try new challenges.”

As an Ambassador for Girlguiding Gordon, Alison McInnes, MSP added: “Girlguiding Gordon is great - it creates a fun space for girls and young women to discover and grow. I thank them all for their enthusiasm and commitment.
