All roads lead to Insch this Sunday, (June 29) as Insch Community Association stage “Insch Homecoming”.
There will be a packed programme of events taking place at locations across Insch, including a Doric Service at Insch Parish Church conducted by Margaret Robb and will be shared by some of the native Doric speakers in the congregation, street stalls, Bothy Ballads, kids activities, a Treasure Hunt, and Country Dancing. There will be refreshments and a barbecue, while Huntly Pipe Band will provide the traditional sound of Scotland. There will also be a host of sporting activities, including kids football, a boxing display and Insch Golf Club will have four balls throughout the day.
St Drostan’s Church will hold an Evensong service at 5pm.
The evening will be rounded of by a Family Ceilidh at Bennachie Leisure Centre.
West Garioch Allison Grant said, “Insch Community Association were awarded funding by the Garioch Area Committee to hold this event to celebrate Insch’s cultural heritage and ongoing community spirit.
“There will be an open doors type theme throughout the day with most clubs and groups being involved in some way. It will be packed full of activities, information stalls and craft stalls, Highland dancing, bothy ballads etc etc finishing off with a family ceilidh in the Bennachie Leisure Centre with our own local lass Sharon Hassan and her band which will be a fantastic way to round off what promises to be a very special day.
