The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy have organised a health and well-being initiative “Work-out at Work Day” (W@WD), for Friday, June 6.
The Society note that the Health and Safety Executive estimate that in 2011/12 workplace illness cost society £8.4 billion.
W@WD aims to encourage people to be more active and identify ways of building more physical activity into their day. There are many ways to do this that are free or inexpensive and don’t impact on work time. The Society’s aim is to kick-start people into developing healthier work habits.
Physiotherapists at Inverurie Chartered Physiotherapy Clinic, at Midmill Business Park, Kintore are delighted to be involved in this initiative and will be using their expertise in physical activity to encourage workers to build exercise into their working day.
On the day they are offering free 30 minute Pilates exercise sessions to promote the aims of W@WD to employees. These can be carried out in your workplace or at the clinic.
