An award winning North-east restaurant has launched a celebrity filled DVD in a bid to boost funds for a local hospital.

Eat on the Green, which is owned by the Kilted Chef, Craig Wilson, has produced the film in the hope of raising more funds for the Friends of Insch Hospital.

The restaurant recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and has raised over £16,000 to date.

Craig launched the film last week, but also took the time to present a cheque to The Friends of Insch Hospital nurses, in recognition of the care they gave to his late father before he passed away.

Mr Wilson said: “The nurses and the other workers at Insch Hospital do a wonderful job and I really value the skill and professionalism of what they do.

“I know my dad would have appreciated me giving something back to say thank you for the care he received at the hospital.”

The charity DVD, includes clips from fundraising events organised by the restaurant with appearances from First Minister Alex Salmond, Lorraine Kelly and Sarah Mack as well as Emmerdale cast members.

Chairman of Friends of Insch, Alasdair McCallum, said: “The Friends of Insch Hospital were delighted with the successful fundraising event organised and we would like to say a personal thanks to Craig and all the sponsors.

“It was especially heartening to have the involvement of our hardworking nurses, who were treated like royalty throughout the event, which they are certainly going to remember for a long time.”

The DVD is available from the Eat on the Green restaurant, Insch Health Centre, a number of shops in Insch or from friendsofinschhospital.com.
