Two awards for the Gaitherin

The Gaitherin scooped two awards at the Creative Culture Scotland Awards.

THE annual Gaitherin, which is now in its 20th year, was nominated for an award through Creative Cultures Scotland.

Last Thursday evening, (January 31), the winners were announced at The Belmont Cinema, Aberdeen where the award ceremony was held. The Gaitherin won the Best Youth Group Award and came second overall in the main award category.

The Gaitherin holds two week long events though out the year at Easter ( P4-P7 age group) and during the October ( S1 to S6 ) school holidays. The organisation is youth driven and youth development is at the heart of what the Gaitherin does.

Registration is now open for The Easter Gaitherin which will be held in Inverurie Academy from April 1 to April 5.

Leaflets are being distributed to Primary Schools throughout the area, however booking or enquiries can be made by going to The Gaitherin website www.gaitherin.org or contacting (01467) 628118.
